The First Cup of Lidong · Portrait

FISH NOTES

I hold the mug between both hands and watch the snow settle on the rooftops across the street. The steam warms my face while my nose stays cold — on a day like this, the first sip is exactly the right temperature.

A close half-length portrait at a cafe window: a blue-haired girl holds a steaming white mug in both hands, cream coat and blue plaid scarf, with a snow-covered city street behind the glass. Week 2 of a 52-week whale-themed illustration project.
