Eden's Sin in Bloom (Serial) Page 7: The Falling Palm

FISH NOTES

Last page was a standoff; this one simply stomps down. The shockwave rings under that foot sent a chill up my back, and the ribbons of light coiling around it are strangely beautiful. What gets me most is the second panel: the girl's hand is still reaching for her rabbit plush even with danger right above her head. That "one inch short" framing is more nerve-racking than any gore shot.

Page 7 of a black-and-white multi-panel comic. The first panel is a close-up of a giant foot striking the pavement, trailing glowing currents and shockwave rings. In the second panel the girl's hand reaches toward her fallen rabbit plush as a huge hand bears down from the right, framed by speed lines and a sound effect. The last panel opens to the street: a one-eyed giant slams both arms down at the center of the road with crossed ribbons of white light around its body, while the girl sits on the ground at the left, looking up, and pedestrians walk on behind trees, lamps and buildings.
