The Blossoming of Sin in Eden, Page 9

FISH NOTES

Everyone's shoes hurried past me in that panel, and nobody looked down. Only the scraped knee and the scan lines flickering across my eyes reminded me that I am not an ordinary child. I still got up with my plush toy in my arms — the road into the school I fought so hard to enter is one I have to walk myself.

Page 9 of the serialized black-and-white comic The Blossoming of Sin in Eden. On a crowded street a little girl in a white dress drops to the pavement, her plush toy fallen beside her and her knee scraped. Close-ups follow on her eyes and the wound as scan lines and pixel squares flicker over them. In the last panel she picks the toy up and walks on through the crowd.
