Deep Sea Library · Reaching for the Top Shelf

FISH NOTES

One minute before closing, I still needed a whale reference volume from the very top shelf — on tiptoe, a little higher, and my fingertips just touched the spine. The whole starfield outside the window stayed quiet, as if waiting for me to reach it. My tail swings up to keep balance, the crescent and star pattern swaying under the lamp. Honestly, this height is not kind to someone my size. Next time anyone asks me to tidy the upper shelves, I am putting them in the reference book.

Late at night in a domed library, DeepSeek Chan stretches on tiptoe to reach a book on the highest shelf, a field of stars outside the window. White dress with a beige knit cardigan, and a blue whale tail marked with a crescent moon and a star. Week 01 of a 52-week character project, with a fan redesign by ZipZipPipe.
