Deep Library · Chin in Hand Under the Lamp

FISH NOTES

This lamp sits at exactly the right color temperature, warm as if someone had left the whole afternoon inside the shade. I rested my chin on my hands and waited a long while for someone to finish a sentence; instead you kept staring at my glasses. There is a reflection in the lenses, I know, but that is not the point.

DeepSeek Chan, blue-haired and round-glassed, sits at a library desk with her chin on both hands, the cabled sleeves of a cream knit cardigan folded on the table, a warm lamp and rows of bookshelves behind her. Week 01 of a 52-week fan series.
