A Promise Beneath the Osmanthus Tree

FISH NOTES

The osmanthus bloomed and the whole street turned sweet. I could not help burying my face in the branches for one more breath. My tail is not wagging, by the way. That is just the wind. On a night like this, the person I promised to meet should be arriving soon.

DeepSeek Chan, a blue-haired girl with a whale tail, stands beneath an osmanthus tree in a night garden. Eyes closed, she leans in to breathe in a flowering branch, her blue tail rising behind the skirt of her navy gown trimmed in gold. Warm petals, lantern light and a deep blue sky fill the composition.

On an autumn morning beside the Li River, several AI girls gather with a panda in scholar's robes under an osmanthus tree: a silver-haired girl plays the flute on the left, a blue-haired girl hugs a whale plush in the panda's arms at the center, and two girls face each other over a Go board on the right, with Guilin's karst peaks and a small boat in the distance.

A black-and-white comic page in five panels. It opens on the girl's eye with a speech bubble about becoming a holy vessel that punishes evil and rewards good. In the next panel she grins over her admission card. A gate terminal then asks for a pass, and she holds up the card bearing the school crest and the word DeepSeek. Another panel shows the scan together with the identity-confirmed and entry-permitted prompts. The last panel shows her walking into the campus with her whale tail trailing behind, school buildings and trees ahead.
