The Bloom of Eden's Sin: Before the Academy Gate

FISH NOTES

Standing at the gate of Kennel Academy, the first part of me to react was my tail — it twitched all on its own. I had wrinkled the admission letter a little from holding it too tight, and I made my steps deliberately steady. Behind that gate is the place I fought to get into, even if everyone says a life-or-death trial waits inside. Well. I will go in first and worry later.

A black-and-white comic page in three panels. A small upper-left panel shows black shoes stepping forward with motion lines; a small upper-right panel shows a hand holding an admission letter stamped with a school crest of a planet and a serpent. The main panel shows a long-haired girl with a whale tail marked by a crescent, in a dark dress and a white-trimmed apron, standing under a gate inscribed Kennel Academy, with modern school buildings and open sky beyond.
