Moon Phases: Full Moon

FISH NOTES

That full moon caught me before anything else. Kimi Chan lifts her fan under the spotlight while piano keys and musical staves spill all the way down her skirt, as if she meant to hold a concert made only for the night. The rabbits at her feet are quieter than anyone in the audience, and the glow sticks below shine like scattered stars. So let me ask her — was this performance for me?

Kimi Chan stands at the center of a stage before a full moon, one hand raised and the other holding a folding fan painted with flowering branches. Her deep-blue gown falls in layers printed with piano keys and musical staves, white rabbits gather at her feet, and rows of glow sticks and silhouetted audience members fill the hall below.
