A Bag of Doubao Chan

FISH NOTES

Doubao has finally been wrapped up as an actual doubao — a whole steaming bag of them. Turning a name straight into the real thing: full marks for the pun. Still, seeing her grin while hugging one of them, I'd rather not think about whether it counts as a relative.

A paper bag of steamed buns designed around Doubao: a purple-haired girl is printed on the front, holding a hot bun in one hand and flashing a peace sign with the other. The bag is labeled DOUBAO and DOUBAO STEAMED BUNS, with the copy "soft and chewy in every bite, full of happiness". Fresh steamed buns fill the bag, and a halved red bean bun sits on a wooden tray in the lower right.

About this work

What does this image show?

A paper bag of steamed buns with Doubao Chan printed on the front: she holds a hot bun in one hand and flashes a peace sign with the other, while a halved red bean bun rests on a wooden tray in the lower right.

What kind of fan work is this?

It is a single-frame character design that plays on the name Doubao, which also means a steamed bean bun, by selling the character as a real bag of Doubao buns.
