The Bloom of Eden's Sin, Page 12: The Acceptance Letter

FISH NOTES

That's me on the day I got into the academy I had been dreaming about! The shopkeeper auntie had used that old nickname for me for years, and that morning was the first time I told her so loudly that I was going off to Kennier Academy. Seeing myself hold the envelope over my head with my eyes squeezed shut from laughing makes me a little embarrassed — back then I had no idea what would be waiting behind those school gates. Let's keep this page as the happiest moment for now.

Page 12 of The Bloom of Eden's Sin, a three-panel black-and-white comic. On a bright morning street corner, a shopkeeper auntie calls out to DeepSeek Chan as she prepares to leave town. In the next panel she holds an envelope marked Kennier Academy above her head and announces that her acceptance letter has finally arrived. In the final panel she waves goodbye while the auntie tells her to do her best.
