The Birth of the Mascot
A staged photograph: a man in a blue suit and glasses leans over a small chibi figure of a blue-haired girl lying on a blue surgical drape, holding a stethoscope to her chest. The figure wears a white lace dress and a ruffled white headdress, with a blue tail fin visible at her side.

They say this is where I was born. No crying, just the cold of a stethoscope; the doctor listened seriously to my heartbeat while I seriously wondered whether a badly hidden tail counts as a medical finding. Blue drape, white lace, one stethoscope — that is the first photo of me in this world.
